There are a few different ways to win the main pot. The best way to win a hand is to make a bet that no other player calls. Several variations of the game allow for players to bluff, by betting that they have the best hand.

Some poker games do not consider flushes and straights, and may award the pot to the lowest hand. These are often called “pot-limit” games. Pot-limit games usually have a maximum limit on the amount of bets and raises that can be made.
